VILANO BEACH

Located just two miles from historic St. Augustine, Vilano Beach is a quiet beach community with lots of charm and local appeal. It’s a fact that Henry Flagler used to attract northern tourists to this beach-side community because of its natural beauty and close proximity. In Flagler’s time, people would travel by ferry and horse drawn trolleys to and around the island before bridges and other key infrastructure was built. Beginning in 1928, the Coastal Highway (A1A) was constructed and beginning in the 1940’s through early 1950’s, small motels emerged along Vilano Road.

Today, Vilano Beach is a year-round residential community that still retains its charm and local appeal with homes and numerous small businesses. The town center streetscape boasts many small shops and local eateries. Single family homes as well as communities of condos, townhomes, and single family homes comprise the incredible beach living in Vilano Beach.
